Sand Hollow

I've decided I have a 'Love Hate' relationship with camping.

Love this:
Not so much this:
(The insane amount of clean up, from just one night of camping)

Love waking up by a lake, and spending the day like this:

Not so much all the laundry the day we get home:
It is probably safe to say that Ammon has a 'Love Love' relationship with camping,
(and by that I mean he wants to go every weekend)
and I realized it's because he misses out on a lot of the before and after prep. Convenient
I'd probably love, love it too if I wasn't still putting camping stuff away 2 weeks later.

I do love watching the kids spend 90% of the day rolling in the dirt, and having to use thier little imaginations while outside.  I love, love smores and hotdogs around the campfire.  And this trip, I loved sleeping by Porter, and hearing him talk in his sleep all night long, "Mom!  Airplane. Fly Sky!!!!" Screaming it just like he does all day long.
I am sure we have many many more camping weekends ahead of this this summer,
I just hope our washing machine is up for the task!

  1. I KNOW! My family all loves camping. I love camping as long as I don't have to be the mom and do all the packing, planning, cleaning, washing, and stessing out about the kids.
PS Your blog makes me really homesick for St. George :) Sunshine and red dirt and Sand Hollow!
