#1. And Then There Were 6

Our biggest news by far of the summer!
(I came home from a rough day to find this on our little board in our room.
Makes me smile every time I see it)

Baby #1 you think and you plan for weeks, and finally create the perfect and clever announcement for the moment you and your hubs have agreed to share the exciting news. At which point you splurge on stamps, make multiple trips to the post office, post it on the blog, and even do a perfectly timed Facebook post announcing the huge news for the family.

I guess baby #4 you keep putting it off, until you are 7 months along, sending out Christmas cards, and realize that most people don't have any idea that your family will be increasing by one in 2 months.

Not that you are any less excited than you were for baby #1, but you are busy being sick, sneaking in naps every moment you possibly can, and taking care of baby #2 and baby #3 that are pulling on your arm every time you sit at the computer with the intention of announcing the exciting news.

We couldn't be more thrilled!
Getting these babies here is not easy-peasy for our family. This time has been no exception.  With multiple trips to a fertility specialist doctor (and nice medical bills as proof), 6 months of ovulating prescriptions, complete with the pleasant wacked out hormones from above said medications, and finally, on the last month we could be on the medication before we had to take more drastic measures... we struck gold. Positive test!  Isn't that the best moment ever?

The kids are so excited for this baby to come.  Porter especially.  Everyday he asks if "his baby is done growing yet."  9 months is a loooong time, especially if you are 5 or 2.  Luckily we have had the holidays to distract them a bit.
When I was pregnant with Porter Scout couldn't have cared less. (Well, maybe she did care even less even after he was born.)  Not Porter, he loooves himself a baby to hold. Whether that love is returned is debatable.   It is fun to watch Scout interact with babies now. You can tell she is trying really hard to like the babies, as if she knows they are something she is supposed  to like, she'll come around.  Or not.

Porter also can't get over the fact that the baby is naked.  Multiple times each time day we he asks if the baby is still naked?  The baby's not even wearing a diaper!?!
The other day I was helping him say a prayer.  I whispered 'bless the baby,' and he says 'bless the baby. That is naked. With no diaper.  Bless the naked, naked, naked baby. Amen.'

Girl or Boy???
It's a. . . .
Baby! That's as much as we can say.

We didn't find out.  Crazy- I know.
We have always found out with the other three, but Ammon has always wanted that surprise. I always figured there is enough surprise in that moment as it is, so haven't gone for it before.
But, considering our boy-girl situation we have now, I figured now was the perfect baby to be surprised.

Talk about self-control.
I was alone in the ultrasound room when the technician asked if I wanted to know what it was.
Uhhh, YES!
But,
Don't tell me.
Now, if that's not self-control, I'm not sure what is.

We really don't have any idea. At different points I have been pretty convinced about what it is, then the next week, I feel the opposite, so...
 surprise it will be.

Coming up with a boy and  a girl name is pretty tricky though.
Ammon keeps asking me what I want for Christmas, and I can honestly say that I am perfectly happy with just being pregnant, and knowing that a new little baby is headed our way soon.
Nothing he could ever buy from a store could top that!

It has been a bit of a difficult pregnancy so far. At 15 weeks I had the cerclage surgery at the hospital, and it went perfectly.   As always with stitches though, there is an increased risk at all times  As of now, I am borderline needing bed rest, and really am trying my best to 'take it easy.'  Hah! Easier said than done, but I am  trying.  Ammon always gets frustrated with me when he sees me jump up on the counter to reach a glass, or pick up Porter, or scrub the kitchen floor, but I am still a mom, and something's just still need to be done.

Sorry for the super-late announcement.  Look at it this way- now you just have to wait 2 months to see pictures of our new little nugget than having to wait 6.  Your welcome.

Can you believe Christmas is a week away.  I am going to go 'take it easy,' and try to finish the massive list of things I need to get done before this time next week.
