We Are Thankful For. . .

We have lived away from family for so long, that being able to spend the holidays with family close by is so nice.
This year we invited the Malufaus to our place for dinner.
Aubri was a rockstar, and brought so much of the food, that it was such a fun, stress-free dinner.

Trying to get 4 kids to smile at the same time and look at the camera can be tricky.

Attempt 1:
Fail.

Attempt 2:
3 out of 4 looking- fail

Attempt 3:
Porter. . . Fail.

Attempt 4 and Last Attempt before I gave up and decided to eat:
Porter... fail again.

Earlier in the morning we went and saw Frozen.
I had painted the movie theater windows earlier that week, so it was fun to see the kids reaction to them.

Our friend Jesse who is over the theaters here said that over 50,000 had seen my windows over Thanksgiving weekend.  Kinda cool, because I will work for hours on a little craft project here at home that a total of 10 people see ever, so 50,000? That's a good number for me:)

After dinner we left all the kids with Uncle Aaron and Aunt Becky, and Lori, Aubs, Ammon, and I headed down to Mesquite for a little Black Friday shopping.  I was never into the Black Friday Hulabaloo before I was a Malufau, but now I love all the craziness, and watching people rip into each other over a $6 Barbie.  Classic.

It was a great Thanksgiving, but even better I loved all the talks, FHE lessons, and bedtime snuggle talks with the kids leading up to Thanksgiving  where we talked about all of our blessings, and how lucky we are for what we have.  I still have the kid's 'Thankful List' on our whiteboard in the kitchen, where we see it everyday.  Porter has 'baseball' and Scout on the top of his list.  And Scout's has food, bed, books, and 'LoveYouCael' right in the middle.

I really wish Thanksgiving could be at a different time of the year (like how about May?), so it wasn't smashed in between a holiday where the kids are buried in candy, and another one where they are buried in presents.  It's is hard to compete with Halloween and Christmas for kids, but I hope each year we can remind ourselves and these little munchkins how lucky and blessed we really are.

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
