An Incredible Halloween

There seems to be something wrong with posting Halloween and fall pictures after Christmas,
So. ..
It's go time.
We have 6 days to catch up on 4 months.  Here it goes.
Halloween 2013:

Having my sewing machine break right before Halloween: Not cool.

Having a sister whose family was The Incredibles last year, who had a costume for Scout and Porter to wear this year: Awesome.
Being able to borrow a Mr. & Mrs. Incredible costume from Ammon's friend: Double Awesome!!
Having Halloween Costumes Done with no work on my part:  Heavenly!

Introducing The Incredibles!
For the record, I did  try to do Scout's hair, but she insisted that Violent always has her hair in her face.  True Dat. Hence her orphan-style hair

Having kids that agreed to being The Incredibles:  Perfection
It is no exaggeration to say that these two watched The Incredibles Daily for the entire month of October.  For research purposes of course.

Porter fully embraced 'Dash,' perhaps a bit excessively even.
He has gone long stretches of time where he only responds to 'Dash' and will only eat, speak, and run the way Dash does in the movie.
It is now 2 months later, and Porter wears 'Dash' all day at least twice a week (another post on that later)
I feel like we did a good job checking everything off our Halloween To-Do List this year.

Halloween crafts with cousins: check.
Costumes worn more than once: check
(I squeezed my belly in this one-piecer suit for this ONE picture, which I strategically placed Scout infront of me, then immediately ripped it off, and put on my stretchy pants... ahhhh)

The Annual Malufau Mansion Dinner: check
With great friends who actually agreed to dress up: check
. . . Who were borderline-creepy with their costumes. (they dressed up as each other)

Ward Trunk-Or-Treat- Check

Where Ammon told Scout to quit giving her candy away to all her little friends, and she got so sad and responded, "isn't that what Jesus would want me to do?"  This girl is so  sweet, not quite sure where that comes from.

Perfecting our muscle superhero pose after waaay too many pictures: check

Trick or Treating at SkyWest: check
(Whoever thought of trick-or-treating through cubicles is a genius.  You get as much candy as trudging to 5 houses in a neighborhood in less than 5 feet and 30 seconds.)

Ammon was a trooper, and wore his costume at work ALL day.
He may have been the only man in the whole office that was crazy enough to wear a costume.
(which, can I remind everyone of our first year married--- 8 Halloweens ago, when Ammon didn't want to wear a costume, and I cried for days, convinced I made a huge mistake marrying him.  Hah!  Little did I know, his inner costume beast just hadn't been released yet. We really were meant to be!)
Wearing your costume at work all day and getting head-nods from everyone that passes your office:
Awesome.

Having a costume that zips up the back, and not being able to go to the bathroom ALL day: Not so Awesome!  (makes for a good story though)
We have been asking around and head about 'THE NEIGHBORHOOD' for trick-or-treating here in St. George.

Words cannot explain how crazy it was. Thousands of costumed people swarming one street.  So many that they shut down the road, and everyone floods the streets.
Luckily we had already gone trick-or-treating twice that day, because having hundreds of kids doesn't make for the best trick-or-treating loot, but seeing everyone and the massive amounts of candy being distributed was incredible.
One house even had a movie projector in their front yard and were serving popcorn and playing Hotel Translyvania.
Another house had a sign that said they had already gone through 2,000 donuts, so were out.  (It was only 5:30!)

Pictures don't do it justice, you could barely find a place to walk.

It seems like every year we are so excited for Halloween and all the festivities that go with it, and, without fail, by the time Halloween night is over, I am SO ready to rip down the decorations and move onto the next.
Scout and Porter scored big-time with candy. I know many moms complain about the massive amounts of candy in their house, but I don't mind it at all. I realized this year (let's just blame it on being pregnant), but I love candy. Pretty sure I downed more than Dash and Violet. Mom-Tax right?

Thanks to the Bunkers and the Tates for their costumes, it was a great, stress free Halloween this year.  Next year I'll bring my A-Game and actually bust out the sewing machine (assuming it's fixed by then... hint hint Ammon)
